Outside Voice

Outside Voice was an annotated playlist series created in 2020 as a response to the “cultural wake-up call” of that year. The series celebrates and amplifies BIPOC voices in the global creative community.

Coming in to Season 2, I wanted to solidify the visual identity of Outside Voice that was introduced in Season 1. I created a modular design system that could be adapted in countless ways, but still structured within our 5-color palette.

Sponsorship

In 2021, Outside Voice partnered with Target for a sponsored holiday-themed series.

Building off the design system established in Season 2, I used the geometry and holiday color palette to evoke tree ornaments, without being too literal.

Cannes Lions

To kick off Season 3, Spotify hosted an Outside Voice panel discussion for Cannes Lions 2022, titled “Representation Behind the Mic: An Outside Voice Event.”

Wanting to refresh the look, we tapped illustrator, Sophia Yeshi, to design the cover artwork as well as a beach towel for the event.
